ORGANIZATIONS & PROGRAMS

Summer Arts Camp

Summer Arts Camp (SAC) is a free, four-week program for children ages 6–12 in North Wilmington, offering high-quality arts education in music, drama, dance, and visual art. Hosted at the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant building and operated by Covenant Community Services, SAC serves as both a creative outlet and an accessible summer program for families in the Edgemoor and Edgemoor Gardens neighborhoods. With a trauma-informed approach and a dedicated team of compassionate teaching artists, the camp empowers students—especially those who have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)—to express themselves, build confidence, and form lasting friendships through collaborative projects and performances. In partnership with EDGE for Tomorrow, SAC works to provide morning arts education alongside EDGE's STEM-focused afternoon camp, creating an all-day learning experience for students in a fun, supportive, and enriching summer experience.

Rainbow Chorale of Delaware

The Rainbow Chorale of Delaware (RCD) is an inclusive non-auditioned LGBTQA+ community chorus and open to all adult (18 and older) singers at all levels of experience. RCD’s mission is to provide LGBTQ+ individuals with their friends and allies the opportunity to perform high-quality choral music in an affirming environment that serves as a positive force for change.

The Rainbow Chorale usually performs three major concerts a season and has an active outreach program of singing at community events. RCD rehearses at PCOC/CCS on Mondays from 7 - 9 PM. Due to staffing changes, RCD will only have two concerts in its 2025/2026 season and will hold its first Open Call in January 2026.

Visit the Rainbow Chorale website for more information about the chorale and to contract them. Listen to past concerts on their YouTube channel and follow them on Facebook and Instagram.

Wilmington Concert Opera

Wilmington Concert Opera is an exclusively woman and minority-led professional opera company (incorporated in 2018) in Wilmington, Delaware. We serve two local communities in substantially different capacities. First, we serve the greater Wilmington/Philadelphia performer community by providing high-level performance opportunities that prioritize hiring local singers. In addition to providing opportunities for local singers, as women who are also performers, we prioritize a positive work flow and a rewarding, family-friendly rehearsal process, as well as engaging as diverse a cast as possible for each of our performances. Second, we offer free (donations are accepted, but not required) performances in economically disadvantaged parts of Wilmington and its suburbs. These performances provide the community with exposure to a traditionally expensive art form. It is one of our explicit goals to introduce new demographics to opera. As a result, our performances are always open to the public and family-friendly.
